On 27 October, Italian President Sergio Mattarella officially <\/span>opened the new premises of the Guardia di Finanza Police Academy in Bergamo<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<\/div>\r\n, on the site of the former hospital complex. This important work for the city is destined to become an advanced training hub and an integral part of Bergamo\u2019s civil society. The redevelopment project was carried out by CMB, requiring considerable tenacity in view of the difficulties posed by such a complex effort, involving the recovery of existing structures, restoration work and new constructions.\r\n\r\nThe work, entrusted by CDP Investimenti SGR SPA to CMB in its capacity as group leader along with RENCO, involved the redevelopment of eight existing pavilions, the tidying up of the external areas, <\/span>the conservative restoration of the<\/b> \u201cPalazzina Rossa\u201d<\/b> building, the construction from scratch of the buildings for the swimming pool and gym, the auditorium, the underground carpark and the sports field with terracing, the shooting range and a number of urban development works.<\/span>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn the existing pavilions, with three floors above ground, <\/span>the work was of a conservative nature<\/b>, and the new architectural layouts neither alter perspective nor make significant changes to the original ground plan. Internal walls were strengthened, structures reinforced and all the interior and exterior door and wall frames were replaced; much of the flooring was redone, the walls were painted, existing non-structural iron works were repaired, waterproofing was carried out, some of the existing elevator structures were repaired and new ones added. The work was completed with the redevelopment of the fa\u00e7ades.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe structures of the existing buildings are in masonry work, with natural blocks on the lower floors and artificial blocks on the upper floors, with a limited amount of reinforced concrete elements, often resulting from work carried out after the original construction. The condition of these structures required comprehensive reinforcement using reinforced plaster, able to significantly improve the load-bearing capacity and flexibility of the masonry work, without substantially altering the architectural layouts.<\/span>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
