Even though the macroeconomic situation is being threatened by multiple risk factors such as inflation, rising interest rates and the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war, CMB, the fourth-largest construction company in Italy, is still on a growth trajectory and achieving record levels. The company’s preliminary turnover in 2022 was 707 million euros, and it is aiming for 730 million in 2023. From a financial perspective, 2022 was a record-breaking year for CMB as the company achieved its best performance in twenty years with Net Financial Debt falling to approximately 25 million euros. The company’s positive profitability in 2022 is expected to improve even further in 2023 due to a significant expansion of the Group’s workforce.
In the coming years, CMB will strengthen its competitiveness in the Italian construction industry by focusing on investments in sustainable infrastructure as outlined in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). It will also continue to expand into low-risk international markets and to export its expertise in hospitals and complex urban regeneration projects.
In October 2022, CMB also published its first Sustainability Report in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative Sustainability (GRI) standard. The publication defines and reports on the development of CMB’s sustainability strategy, taking into account environmental, social and good corporate governance factors, establishing new relationships and methods of listening to stakeholders, as well as analysing CMB’s sustainability performance commitments and key achievements. CMB has set itself the goal of transforming sustainability from a value that they believe in, to a strategic factor that drives the direction and growth of its business, linking financial and economic factors with the core principles that CMB was built upon.
The 2023 Budget and 2024 Forecasts were presented on Saturday, 18 February at CMB’s headquarters in Carpi. The Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Davide Baruffi, and President of the Integra Consortium, Adriana Zagarese, spoke at the presentation.
