The Cathedral of Carpi is rediscovered after the earthquake in Emilia
The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Carpi has been returned to the city nearly five years after the earthquake in 2012.
Its restoration has become a symbol of the rebirth of the area struck by the earthquake. It has been a long task, requiring great patience, in which ancient materials and cutting-edge techniques have been interwoven. It has been an emotional experience for the workers who have been involved in the reconstruction, happy to bring back to life an icon of CMB’s city of birth.
