A monument called Rinascente in the eternal city
In Rome, CMB has been involved in the renovation of the historical palace situated between via del Tritone and via dei Due Macelli
for the development of the new Rinascente flagship store, 14 thousand square meters housing 800 brands.
Here modernity and antiquity blend in a functional space that transforms the store into a museum. CMB demolished the existing buildings while maintaining the original facades, today restored, and preserved a palace dating to the beginning of the 20th century and part of the original complex that had a “building within a building” effect, two panoramic terraces and 60 mt of Aqua Virgo aqueduct from the 1st century AD.
An ARCHAELOGICAL SITE IN A COMMERCIAL AREA
The 60 meters and eight arches of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct, rediscovered during the works for the renovation, can be seen by the public in the basement floor.

Technical Description
In Rome, the work relates to the restructuring of a property right in the historic center. The project involved the demolition and the reconstruction of the palace according to the existing volumes while preserving the historic facades: the floors, rebuilt on seven levels, are dedicated to clothes retailing, with the exception of the top floor which is occupied by a cafeteria. The works were carried out in a nerve center of the capital with high complexity both due to the nature of the works and to interferences with the work area.
The overall surface area of the project is 17,140 sq.m.

“A project that, rather than commercial, is most of all cultural: what has counted is the tenacity of those who have believed in this project”
Nicola Zingaretti
President of the Lazio Region
